The Storm have sold 9,528 tickets for Sunday’s pre-season game against Sheffield Steelers, wow i new they would have good crowds ,but i was expecting 4000-5000 , and gradually get bigger as season goes on, so this is great news for them , they couldn't have asked for a better start.

It's looking good for them so far. On a different but related note, Planet Ice have announced they will be launching a new team in the NIHL from the Altrincham rink from next season and it still seems the new 3000 seater ice rink (with two ice pads) at the Trafford Centre is still going ahead as work to clear the site has already started.

Good news for hockey all round. I did wonder if they would just promote the Aces but I guess PI always want a bit more control of the team so this makes sense

The AO arena looks phenomenal in the pictures on social media, like an NHL rink. What a positive step for the league.

Just makes it even more frustrating to think what we could have and instead we’re looking to add the odd few seats in every available space to scrape a few extra quid.

and up on the cards we have

New Arena in Dublin , Planning permission expected to be submitted in September , NOW ,and are hopeful completion 2029+
and joining eihl, capacity varies some say 5000 ,8000 and expandable to 10.500 so take a pick.

seems to have big backers and a lot of them.
tom kennedy, prime arena holdings
denis desmond, entertainment promoter
Michael "Mickey" O'Rourke, Premier Sports
susan whelan ,Leicester City FC
John Hume & Helen Work, Notable corporate investors and communications/banking specialists

and then you got NHL connections

rob blake stanly cup champion
pat Flatley new York ranger
cory cross & glen murray NHL VETERANS
alex newhook & jake evans , still playing today for Montreal Canadians
it also secured the formal backing of several prominent civic and tourism bodies

Developers have also revealed they are in ongoing talks with an undisclosed "Hollywood celebrity investor"
to take a minority stake in the franchise ownership group, modelled after the Wrexham AFC ownership style

well that's a lot of backing, if ever i seen it.

As a matter of interest, if we were to build a new rink (say for example 8000)
Where do you think we could locate it? This would include adequate parking. Ideas please……

All we need is a billionaire football owner to decide he could help out our owners with a new venue. :) I hear Wycombe's owner has a few billion knocking around.....
