Reading the Giants website i thought maybe he was encouraged to leave(offered a new challenge as modern managers say)

It does seem very stange why someone who doesn't start their new job until September would opt to quit now and not get paid for the final two months of the season........

I initially thought this - they are a brand new team though with literally nothing, I guess he needs to hire staff, recruit players etc?
