Have to say that score line and result was expected. Everything against the boys today. Playing in Belfast as as not a neutral venue, playing with 4D with Belfast playing exactly how you’d expect them too.
It was Belfasts to loose. We were done after their first goal.
Gutting but proud of the boys.

Yet again the video lad was talking to the refs and no doubt influencing. Man in the crease, surely no goal?!? The one ref seemed to wave it off on seeing the replay but the lino then gave a goal. I am confused by that decision. What are your thoughts....... Goal or no goal and why or why not?!?

Well done lads, short benched on the defence and you gave what you could and were out on your legs in the end which shows the effort given. Why Brandt and some of the Brits werent played more to inject a bit of energy and rest some of our lads at times is beyond me. Anyway.......massively proud of our Nettie...... Yet again.

All in all disappointing, but not surprising. We knew that we have a problem down a couple of defence and playing over there in an environment where everything was done to make life difficult for us.

Hopefully we'll get our revenge by denying Belfast then play offs, otherwise they could easily be on for the GrandSlam. Belfast are a very good team. We have the makings of a dynasty team, but this simply isn't it year.

This game demonstrates exactly why we are proud to call ourselves Devils' fans. A truly fantastic effort from the Devils. After taking an early lead and holding it for a while the our Guys deserved so much more.

It took the Giants so long to get on the scoreboard and couldn't win it in regulation ......... 16 of our players and a second net minder (on the bench) pushing a full, healthy league leading team all the way.
Devils will be tired and hurting but they should be so proud of themselves. They are an absolute credit to our Club.

A one goal difference might suggest the Giants were the better team but we will never truly know...had our Guys been able to ice a full team it might have been a different story.

Now Boys, go and beat the Teal and White in the Playoff final ;)

Just absolutely beaming with pride. Great performance. Well done lads, so very very well done.
The owners delivered on their promise of a competitive team. Brilliant.

Great effort from the lads, to only have 4 D against such a good team at their gaff and to play like that was truly awesome. Still not sure how you can score 2 goals with a man standing in the crease, but it is Belfast, anyway it’s done and dusted now, these lads can hold their heads up high they gave it their all and no one can expect more.

Can't fault the team, all the odds were against them and it went down to the wire.

First things first, I wasn't able to watch the game due to work commitments but it sounds like the Devils put in a huge effort and in no way disgraced themselves. Can't have many complaints about that! They'll bounce back from this and will be stronger from it next time around.

I've gotta say though, how is this league expected to be taken seriously when you only have four defenceman available, let alone for a final? This isn't exclusively on the Devils but it's a league wide issue. The cost of following an EIHL team certainly isn't set at semi-pro level!

This is a wider issue and perhaps not for this specific game thread but it is partly relevant, the league needs to pull it's finger out over an array of issues and start acting like a professional league.

Disappointing but a good effort by the boys. This is probably not the right time to bring it up but I am a bit disappointed that we started a final with only 4 D. A final that we knew we were in weeks ago. If they expected McNulty to be fit then fair enough but if we knew weeks ago that McNulty would miss the final then a new recruit would have been nice. Ah well
Just another example that shows the aim wasn’t there to achieve this season. Great effort from the guys to be in the final and to compete, we go again in the playoffs and then 22/23 has the foundations to build a Championship Winning team. Considering how 2020 was going, this season has over achieved and we should all be great full for it. Great night, Great effort.......

I hope to god we see the back of 19 man rosters next season. And I think we will. It’s been farcical at times this season. Starting a final tonight with only 4 D really took the edge off the occasion for me. You shouldn’t be starting finals with only 4 Dmen

Here we go again! The troll is back looking to hijack another thread to be all about her! What the hell is that first deluded sentence meant to mean? The boys lost in OT for gods sake! You have no clue! Please just go away.

Utter nonsense. Took the league leaders to overtime, having gone 2 nil up and you surmise with “another example that shows the aim wasn’t to achieve this season”.

We lost to a cracking team tonight but it was ours to win/lose being 2-0 up. The boys were superb. If we’d have won that it would be right up there with the Reggie Stringer cup final. Epic. Brilliant performance! They put it all out there and came up short.
Proud beyond belief tonight.

Well done devils for the great effort tonight with being short on D players a great run in the cup and you kicked ass by beating the steelers 5-0 in their own gaff and knocking them out of the cup ,its gonna hurt after tonight’s result but karma is a bitch and let’s hope we face the giants in the playoff finals to get our revenge
