Fixtures Calendar Download (formally Outlook Fixtures)

Thread starter #1
With all you IT experts on here, can anyone do a complete fixture schedule to import into outlook?, I see a guy and the cage has done one for the Panthers and it would be useful.

Re: Outlook Fixtures (anyone smart enough)

I've already done it - I have it in a Google CAL and Outlook format...so it is available as HTML, iCAL and CSV.

I will see about making it available using the MatchNightLive email, so everyone can add it. If they can use web cals, then it will be automatically updated.

Currently I have everything in one calender. Would people prefer a home and away schedule? I actually have both

Awesome, home and away would be superb as I am going to go to a lot more away games this year, for work I use outlook and at home I use i cal is there a way both can synch to a web cal ? Im not very techie I'm afraid.

If someone is kind enough to arrange for this to happen I would certainly welcome the email/link.

Re: Outlook Fixtures (anyone smart enough)

Ok gents, it is done.

I have created three Calendars. One with all the fixtures (home and away) and then one for Home and one for Away (to appease those who want either just the home or easy separation).

All Cardiff Devils Fixtures
XML http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/mc ... blic/basic
iCal http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/mcp ... /basic.ics
HTML http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?sr ... ope/London

Home Cardiff Devils Fixtures
XML http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/8m ... blic/basic
iCal http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/8me ... /basic.ics
HTML http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?sr ... ope/London

Away Cardiff Devils Fixtures
XML http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/ja ... blic/basic
iCal http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/ja6 ... /basic.ics
HTML http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?sr ... ope/London

Re: Outlook Fixtures (anyone smart enough)

It is all hosted by Google Cal, the three links are all different ways to give the same thing.

XML and iCal are just two formats that you can use to import (or sync) your software with our Calendar. The choice of which one depends on the software. iCal seems to be winning in most instances.

The HTML displays the calendar as a webpage - click it ;)

I would suggest syncing and not importing - so it is updated automatically. I will try my best to keep these up to date, and you would then automatically get the latest version beamed in.

Clear as mud? ;)

Just tried to incorporate this onto outlook on my work computer but unfortunately it hasn't seemed to have worked.

The iCal version worked great in Google Calendar and this auto-synced on my Android phone. Awesome. Thanks very much Gareth.

The iCal version is probably the best shot on most systems. You will want to use it as the source for an "Import Calendar" in your application.

If you use Google Calendar, it is just a case of clicking the HTML link whilst you are signed in and clicking the "Add" link in the bottom right corner.

Re: Outlook Fixtures (anyone smart enough)

Just wanted to say thanks for doing this. Didn't really know what I was doing but clicked the iCal link from my phone and it automatically saved all the fixtures into my calendar. Thank you :D

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, this will not save on my work’s Outlook calendar.

For general help around Google Calendars see:

http://www.google.com/support/calendar/?hl=en_GB

Apparently there is an official Google tool available for syncing with Outlook

http://www.google.com/support/calendar/ ... swer=89955

Not sure if that is something that will help at work. Also, you should be able to do it directly. Here is the official help from Microsoft for Outlook 2007.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlo ... 67495.aspx

Your mileage may vary on different OS.

On iPhone, I have no experience. But as iCal is an Apple format, that would be your best shot. Perhaps James can give some advice. I've had a quick google, but most the links are to sync your own Google Cal account with iPhone, not a public feed.
