In fairness it would be awesome when the new arena is built down the bay to do a scoping exercise similar to this over a weekend. I’d go even further and if you’re going to put a rink down absolutely fill the ice time. EIHL games in evenings, Bristol play Swindon NIHL game in afternoon so their fans have reason to come over. Sell every minute of ice to Fire, Canucks, Juniors, Comets, Huskies from morning, noon and night and charge a flat rate for access to everything. A true hockey festival from grass root to pro.

Non starter I’m afraid. My sources have stated that prior conversations with the council led to nothing (even after £££ was dangled in front of them to install an ice pad). You already have a sufficient facility and we want to see it utilised was the unfortunate outcome!

Yeah no fixed pipe work in the slab or plant in initial build. Laying a temp pad is still viable though if can make the pounds and pence add up for a short term install. Hence get very entrepreneurial with utilisation.

They can do it for the Disney on Ice tour and winter wonderlands everywhere, there must be companies out there that specialise in it.

We used to have temporary ice skating during the run up to Christmas in London when I worked there, open air, Just one large portable power/chiller unit and a bit of pipe.
