Win is a win but that 2nd period was all steelers, thought they were the home team and already played 5 games this season not their 1st, they tore us apart with there speed, lucky enough fox took greener off 3rd period and gave us a chance putting brine in, and we just scraped the win, strange putting stoever in to start given not played this season thought may have started bowns then give stoever a run out in the 3rd but I'm not the coach.
We struggled to exit the zone properly, so many times we went up the ice only to turn around and come back. The big body, puck retention strategy didn’t seem to gel tonight. Not much physicality either. At times it looked like it was our first game of pre season.
Joey was class again and Ritchie was sublime tonight. Even took the body a few times but his defensive display tonight was first class.

Another entertaining pre-season game, although it didn’t really feel like a Steelers game.
A defensive mistake on the first shift gifted the Steelers an early opener, but after that it was one way traffic in the 1st period. Our long pre-season showed as we were skating faster, passing better and pretty much dominating the whole ice. We quickly took the lead with two tap in goals and it should have been more. The biggest worry at the first period break was the ice which had come to Sheffield’s rescue and held up the puck when we looked ready to add more goals.
Second period, well it was similar to the Ducs game. No jump for us but everything for our opponent. Almost a complete reversal of the first period and we let the lead slip away.
Third period we started playing again, scored one well worked goal and one scrappy goal. Once we took the lead I was again never worried we’d lose it - it was more a case of whether we would score more.
As mentioned above, Richie was outstanding last night. I had to double-check it was him taking the body and repeatedly stealing the puck off the Steelers forwards. Welsh also impressed a lot last night and I thought Caron had his best game for us so far. When he has the puck it’s very difficult for the opposition to get it off him or stop him.

Really enjoyed last night two good teams really going at it, I thought the pace of the game was untrue and we played a very good 1st period with goals from Yaremko and MacDonal. We then got outplayed in the second by a very good Steelers team who went into the 3rd leading by 3-2, so now into the 3rd and this is where no Devils heads dropped, we needed to go up a gear and up a gear we went, turning the game to our advantage and winning the 3rd by 2 goals to none thanks to Brandt and Mieho. So winning the game 4-3 against a very good Steelers team, and showing that when the going gets tough, this team gets going, so onto today’s game and let’s hope we can show the same fighting attitude and passion that was abundant last night. Let’s go lads.
Don’t think anyone is saying it’s done on purpose, that would be stupid. However if you pay for something that you don’t receive then you’re entitled to Moan about it. If I order a Tesco food delivery and pay for it, but then only recieve 2/3rds of it I am going to moan and want a refund. No one is to blame and as you say tech stuff sometimes don’t always work, it’s just a bummer when you wait a week for something you love and then things go wrong but shit happens.
