I imagine we’ll win the league now.

Can only beat what’s in front of you and all that…but tonight emphasised something stark with this team. Not a a surprise as we all see it week in and week out but how depressing is it?… Dundee guy shoots the puck a bit after the whistle and it’s Oli making a point. Sanford then joins in. Eventually our “no nonsense D man”, MacWiliam joins the party. Point being, it’s Oli not MacWilliam making a point. Just likes it’s Joey dropping the gloves.

What a pathetic lightweight Russell team.

We really need to change up the top line, how mcdonald is not in it is beyond me, tonight this line kept losing the puck or outmuscled. Back tracking is shit!

Good comeback win for the boys after Wednesday, they needed this to get up a gear for the playoffs, didn't go to the game so can't comment , so well done all.

Any info on davies and carruth, injured ??
I don't know this but had assumed they were both healthy scratches and it was tactical - with Bowns starting I thought Pete had brought in a Brit back-up to enable us to have 15 import skaters rather than having an import slot sitting on the bench, with Davies being the Brit dropped to enable this, otherwise why didn't Taz back-up?

I thought that but wasn't sure of rules, belfast have done it on numerous occasions icing whistle and dixon both brits it could happen against clan tonight.

its a tactic that belfast is using by playing 2 british netminders they can ice 15 import skaters.the import netminder for belfast does'nt play many games and since belfast started doing this their form increased massively.i often wondered why we don't do the same as its made a big difference to belfast being able to ice 15 imports and have solid british netminding.

Enjoyable game with lots of goals and a fair bit of edge to it.

At 5-1 the game looked all but over but then the Officials appeared to lose their minds for 5 minutes - or maybe it was me?

First, the Stars get into the zone and the whistle is blown for offside (very close). The Stars player though shoots the puck - and I can only assume they did that knowing the whistle had gone as it was from quite a distance out so pretty speculative shot considering the players they had attacking.
Everyone knows that if you fire the puck after the whistle you're going to get a shove or two. Which is what happened, then another Stars player jumps in and it kicks off a second time.
Somehow, we ended up on the PK. No idea how when they caused it with the after-whistle shot and they seemed to be the most aggressive in the scuffle too.
Stars score on the PP.
Less then a minute later Martin is up-ended with what looks a pretty obvious slew-foot. Martin dishes out his own retribution - but no slew-foot is called.

From the very next play, MacWilliam is hooked, but nothing is called despite it leading to a breakaway. MacWilliam manages to put the player off to stop a goal - but gets called for slashing despite there not being anything that obvious.
Stars score on the PP.

it was good to see the Devils then up their effort and score two quick goals to regain control of the match but I really don't know what the officials were doing in those 2-3 minutes.

It's no written rule on shooting after the whistle, but obviously it upsets players defending, so the penalty would go against the defending team if it gets nasty, devils should do it more , try it against belfast Friday and we may end up with a pp , while on that subject I hope PR got plans to change areas in the game to combat giants superiority over us this season ..just saying

If the whistle is blown a goalie can relax and drop his guard, this then can be a danger to his health players know this so if they continue to shoot then they suffer the consequences
