Didn't see any of the bench incident but as he was leaving the ice he appeared to push a ref or a lino. The commentators indicated they may have got footage on another camera they use for highlights.

Something happened near the blaze bench and Bordy came either from the bench or was already on the ice to their bench and Klotz punched him in the face and when he was being taken to the Devils bench he shoved Hicksy.

Stick to the face as well as the punch, from what I saw...could be wrong though. Penalty on Klotz was for high stick...which sort of confirms it.

From what I saw, Bordeleau was skating past the Blaze bench and was caught by a punch. He immediately turned around and was getting ready to take on someone when the stick came out of his eyeline and hit him in the face. There was a lot of blood on the ice. Next Blaze game could be interesting!

From Block 8 near the Blaze bench I could see a punch thrown at Bordy from their bench. Bordy turns to retaliate....next thing contact with a stick from that bench. No wonder Patrick was steaming -a complete no-no at NHL and AHL level. Blaze player deserves a lengthy ban for that injury - he could have taken Bordy's eye out.

Why do so many of the games reffed by Hicks descend into chaos? He never seems to get a proper grip on situations.

Taz's exit seemed quite funny at the time....but I think the Blaze bench thought he was being too much of a naughty Devil! First league mascot to get a game ban!

What a difference in refereeing standards in a couple of weeks. The calm, reassured, no-nonsense game called by Schmejkal last week and now this clown tonight. I would not want to be in Klotz's shoes in a couple of weeks time when the Blaze are back in town, he could be in a lot of trouble with Bordeleau! Saying that, Klotz might have gone home by then, an absolutely useless player and a total waste of an import slot. I think I just heard a post game interview with a Danny Stewart where he and the interviewer suggest that the Blaze were the better team 5 on 5. I must have been watching a different game as I thought the Devils dominated and should have scored a hatful tonight.

Looks like it was a punch and not a stick. But either way should be a couple of games ban. Hope nothing for Bordy, could quite see what he was doing down the tunnel. Also, Louis will be reviewed, hopefully nothing there too.

Bordeleau was skating past Blaze bench on way back to Devils bench when someone threw a punch at him from Blaze bench, when Bordeleau turned towards Blaze bench, Klotz sticked him in the face!! Bordeleau went down on the ice, bleeding from his face (later confirmed by him as a broken nose). Understandably he ain't happy and wants to get at Klotz, who by now is at the back of the Blaze bench, hiding behind half a dozen players.
Hicks then gives Bordeleau a roughing double minor and game for leaving the bench! (He was already on the ice before any of this incident occurred)!
Unbelievably, Hicks gives Klotz 5 minutes for high sticks. For a deliberate stick to the face from the bench!!!
Predictably, after Hick's total bottling of the penalty calls, the next shift is retribution time and Mark Louis quite rightly puts down a marker and takes out a Blaze forward and X-checks two more.
Personally, I have no problem with giving them two 5 on 3 goals when we're 5-1 up because we needed to hand them their arses in the physical stakes too.
As for Klotz, if here is still here in 2 weeks time, he has just put a big target on his back. Having said that, he probably won't get on the ice to answer the call!!

Taz wasn't thrown out - after moving from the bench area he did a lap of the rink!!

A Devils fan was escorted out by two security men. He had been by the benches when everything kicked off. Didn't see what went on - anyone know?

My first game this season and was expecting a lot but was left very disappointed by the Devils tonight. I thought they were lucky to get that win after dominating the first period against a poor Blaze team. Why is it that every time we are on the powerplay we insist that we try and walk the puck into the net and don't shoot from the blue line. Only time we did was in the third period and we scored from that. Passing was poor and the defence was caught out a few times with them making passing errors or charging out only to lose the puck and get caught with one d man against 3 Blaze forwards. I also couldn't understand why Lord didn't play and drop Culli into d as Fournier obviously ain't 100% yet.on the good side I see Hicks still hates Cardiff and makes some baffling calls, incident at the Blaze bench where Bordeleau gets a game or match penalty for blood on the ice and the Blaze guy gets a high stick penalty for using his stick to hit an opposing player from his bench. Brought 2 friends to see their first hockey game and thankfully they loved it but I was left very disappointed by an average Devils display against a poor Blaze team

what game were you watching, devils dominated the first period hands down , 2nd period was pretty even affair then devils controlled the 3rd, as for klotz coming back in 2 weeks time, no chance as dops will review the call on him and give him at least 6 games. my view of the incident was i thought klotz sticked bordeleau first then went looking for revenge took the punch that put him down.

I watched it via ice time tv and whilst I would say it's not like being there I cannot understand your comments?? Why would we shoot from the blue line ? No idea what the stats are but guessing the conversion of shots from blue line aren't in double figures , Blaze are not a poor side significantly improved on last season and their goalie is outstanding if a little touchy ! Not a clue why you think Bordy got a game for blood on the ice ? Since when did bleeding after being hit get you ejected ? For me our passing is one of the better things about our game in general it's slick fast and accurate but nothing is 100% guess it's odd the way people see things differently when watching the same thing !
