With joey set for his testimonial in the summer, as of now we don't know if he's carrying on playing , but there maybe an option in the coaching set up alongside, PR and Matt ? Just saying

What I would say is that his presence on the ice as a player is irreplaceable, although in saying that when he's playing out of his skin for the team very often the skill level, effort and sheer hard work he puts in shift after shift doesn't always rub off on a lot of his team mates, they very often appear to not seem to bothered about matching his intensity at all. Would he as a coach/ player coach be able to motivate and get that effort and intensity out of them when they often don't follow his example as a player?

Probably yes but not with this lot, big changes have to happen grown men with tiny hearts have to be kicked to the kerb. This is Cardiff for heavens sake don’t want to show up, then do us all a favour and sodoff.

Keefe drums into his players what they represent and never allows them to forget what is expected. It's all about team, playing as a unit, and not about indivual skills and influence. That would probably include a reminder that anything less than hardwork and playing with pride will be short changing their loyal fans too.

I'd give joey a chance as head coach, there is no way in hell he could do worse than dupont/skalde in my eyes, I'd put money on him having to better run at it then the current coach.

Well said Wannabe, it's a hard watch sometimes when it seems like some players are just going through the motions

Genuine question - what's your basis for this? It's pretty specific. Is this just how you see a currently well performing opposition team, an assumption, or dissatisfaction with what we have?

None of the above. Been watching Keefe for years, as Giants' Captain and now Head Coach. Win or lose, he has passion. He shows his emotions and his frustrations. You can see the communication on the bench. He knows what he wants from his players, they know their roles.
Think that has always been a hallmark of Keefe's teams in recent years. Coaches and players can be admired and respected for the way they operate, Win or lose.
