No doubt some other clubs home and abroad were interested in him, well done bosses on securing our best backup at the start of last season , think he will be #1 next season so bownsy will need to step up and compete for #1 which is a good thing....just saying

Really pleased with this signing. We've struggled in recent years to get a second netminder who can be trusted to start a long stretch of games. Stoever proved by the end of the season he can do that.

It certainly sounds from the PR like Bowns is back too which will give us a very solid netminder duo.

And I don’t think we should forget that last season was Ben Bowns’ best season statistically too so he’s not likely to want to become a back-up - seems a 1a and 1b situation most likely next season I’d have thought.

Surprised at those stats... implication being that we very much had a split tandem. Would have sworn that Bowns started 75% of games last season

i think bowns would be ok with a 40-60 split in favour of stover, especially if looking to be goalie coach in future. it would be a good option for him. i don't know if he has ever mentioned his future plans after ending playing. also i don't know how many teams have a goalie coach ? maybe keep playing because he loves the sport and drop down a level ?

I like both goalies, but I feel far more confident when Stoever’s in net. Should be starter for me or at least a 60/40 split in favour of Stoever
