Devils head to the Sponsordome for the last game of 2019. Devils may well be without Martin and Reily is still in Davos with Team Canada but Blaze may well be running an import or 2 short too due to injuries. Devils have struggled to find form in Cov after going a season or so unbeaten there.

Noticed Broll hasn't played for them for a while. Very tough player who scores a few as well. We will be advantaged if he is still out for these two games.

Broll played a couple of games before Christmas and had a ‘mare in both.... I presume that his injury is not yet sorted. Johnston is a danger, very underrated, defensively sound with a significant offensive upside. Add in Corcoran and Bloodoff (although both are not strong defensively) and there are dangers. Clements has been missing recently which is a big loss. Chippy and difficult to play against. Will be good to see the Blaze’s new NM.... unfortunately Phillips was not up to the role, Motte looks am upgrade.

Very enjoyable game of hockey that was played in a decent atmosphere (well amongst the away fans anyway) Blaze are one of those annoying teams that you seem not to be able to put away and any slip led to them clawing themselves back into a game that Devils spent a long time dominating. Highlights were Rutkiss’ pass to Louis for his goal, a superb bit of vision which topped off a fine performance. Haddad being (again) the best player on the ice, and Linglet looking like his old self.

We are in a rich vein of form and at times look unplayable.... we need to keep going though, Sheffield are matching us stride for stride and Belfast will improve.

Happy New Year everyone!

Who is for the chop ????
Myers for me, lost at least one battle on the boards and took a penalty. Must be thinking of his testimonial too much. /s

But seriously, coventry's style of play means you have be wary of them. Tonight as a team we were outbattled, missed many passes and we had too much of a gap between our units which allowed them to counter at will.

Did like Bownsie's Hasek like save though

Awful game, guess everyone was on the New Years hangover. They should of gotten more stuck in to try and get some penalties but it was all just a bit of a mess. Onwards to Sunday

Puck retention was poor & that killed us. Blaze were great at blocking shooting lanes & moving on the counter. We had plenty of shots on goal but nothing would go in go in for ove no more money. Bowns did his best but Blaze scorers were on fire, almost everything seemed to go in. The game was over by the time Bowns was pulled but given our Puck retention was poor the quick empty netter was foreseeable.
