Absolutely spot on, as already said to do what Johnny did at 26 yrs of age is nothing short of phenomenal, plus his television appearances were so professional and mature. Johnny was the perfect entertainer, great player, the shooting of the clock, and then returning his stick to the holster was pure pure entertainment and the crowd loved every minute of it, and that happened time after time. Our Maestro knew exactly how to get the crowd on the end of their seats, and brought in the players to not only win but to also entertain, and boy did they entertain, if the Devils played every other day the rink would be rocking. Cardiff had never seen anything like it, little did I know that Nov 30th 1986 was going to take me on a 40 yr ride, a ride that I have never wanted to get off, with the exception of the lock out fiasco. Anyway that’s old news now, anyway on a much brighter note I was fortunate enough to know Sir Lawless not only as a player but also as a friend, and if it hadn’t been for him my life would have been much much duller. So we had a great set up in 1986, and we now have a great set up in 2026, it don’t get any better than that folks. MANY HAPPY HOCKEY DAYS
