I'm just taking it one game at a time, no one can predict future games. Minor penalties can change games, unlucky ricochet off an opponents slap shot can create lucky goals or even a naked man wearing a pink tutu with a monkey face over his gentleman vegetables gate crashing the ice could change the destination of a game, you never know :D

One shift one period one game at a time for me, I remember all to well the two yrs running we had a big dip in form the last 5/6 games down the stretch and lost the league title to the lot in orange, still get nightmares lol

This seasons team does seem more confident (as do I in them), but never say never. As we're getting closer the next 2 weekends are crucial to the team sealing things up (ignore that comment on the Belfast game!) but it puts in my eyes an enormous mountain for any of the other teams to climb.

I've got confidence in this team, just don't want to think about the possibility of us being EIHL champions again just yet in case some one nicks it off us lol, want to be 100% sure

I make it 83pts is the magic number.
That's 4 more wins from 8 games.

Devils GP 48 - 75pts - max 91pts
Storm GP 49 - 67pts - max 81pts
Giants GP 48 - 62pts - max 78pts
Flyers GP 45 - 60pts - max 82pts

2 away games
Steelers, Giants

6 home games
Capitals, Steelers, Steelers, Storm, Giants, Lightning

Devils remaining fixtures:
Sat - 10th - Capitals - Home
Sun - 11th - Steelers - Away
Wed 14th - Steelers - Home
Fri 16th - Giants - Away
Sun 18th - Steelers - Home
Wed 21st - Storm - Home
Sat 24th - Giants - Home
Sun 25th - Lightning - Home

Everyone appears to have overlooked the Panthers - they can get to 82 points as well (can’t they??)

We need 4 wins from 8. Two of which are against the bottom two clubs and that is if all other teams win out which is unlikely.

How anyone thinks this isn't all over baffles me. If we were looking up at other teams in our situation we wouldn't think we have a chance. No need to be coy or say a period at a time, we're fans not players, it would be the biggest collapse ever seen in UK hockey if we don't canter to the championship.

We won this months ago when teams stopped being consistent and competitive. At least tonight should show whom is the Champion of what frankly has been a not so great season. I’m not a fan of 8-2 scorelines, I’d prefer to beat with one or two points or OT. I’m hoping tonight will be an exciting battle between two truly competitive, epically battling and hungry.

After last nights results round the league, we need 7 points from 8 games to be unbeatable, Manchester can get 81 at most

But challengers can't all win all their games - remaining games between possible contenders for the title

Nottingham play Sheffield
Manchester lay Fife
Belfast play Nottingham
Sheffield play us
Fife play Belfast
We play Sheffield
Belfast play us
Sheffield play Nottingham
Belfast play Fife
Manchester play Nottingham
We play Sheffield
Nottingham play Fife
Fife play Sheffield
We play Manchester
We play Belfast
Manchester play Sheffield

All big games for the participants, don't see Nottingham and Sheffield losing all theirs from that list (except against us), so they could do us a favour!

All we can control is get those 7 points

We currently have 75

Manchester can get 81
Flyers can get 80 (but were awful in MK last night. Too many good players on injury list)
Belfast can get 78
Panthers can get 77
Forget the Squealers. They can only tie with us on 75 (and that's with us losing all and Sheffield winning all!!!)

When we win it we win it i say.
Yes of course, but the thread is about being 'crowned champions'. So it's just looking into various scenarios, who plays who, how many points might be needed, ifs and buts.

Obviously players take it one game at a time, but as a fan I'd like to look into when's the earliest we can win it, can we lift the trophy against the Steelers
