Pretty sure Basingstoke didn't go bust midseason, just limped to the end. Richie actually went to Nottingham before Basingstoke, then jumped from Basingstoke back to Nottingham I seem to remember.
Basingstoke were our last opponents at the WNIR. They came back onto the ice with their fans when we had that fabulous photo taken from the bar looking out onto the ice. Loved that photo
Basingstoke were our last league opponents at the WNIR, we played 3 play off games home afterwards against Belfast, Cov and Edinburgh. I think the playoffs were round robin back then ?
