Plain and simply if these numb nuts still don’t obey by the rules they get thrown out no room in the rink for idiots or drunks this is a family sport not a place to disobey rules
It's a difficult situation as it seems to be a problem in a number of blocks, if you start ejecting people from one block then you need to do likewise in any other blocks where the same problem exists, this would soon end up becoming a bit farcical and spoil the enjoyment of people that have come to enjoy a hockey game, I feel the commotion would also be seen by the players and could affect the game itself.
The problem needs sorting at it's source e.g the entrance to the rink rather than try to sort the problem whilst the game is in progress, make people aware in no uncertain terms when they enter the rink what the ground rules are regarding masks and unsociable behaviour, a ban from all future games. We've got to nip it in the bud before we have a situation like rugby matches.

But people are told when they come in. They clearly ignore that, which is why the problem exists. If people are visibly removed, I suspect people will be more compliant in other areas of the rink. Frankly disrupting one game is better than the rink being closed.

That said, let's focus on getting ahead of Sheffield in the standings, just in case we get another lockdown.

Spot on this has to be sorted getting in to a Giants game is far more stricter than ours, for one if you don’t have a covid pass, wear a mask ,and you don’t have a lanyard saying you are exempt you ain’t going in.

Whilst I understand the sentiment, I don't think it's sensible for ordinary fans to confront the sort of drunks who are causing the problems. It will just end up in scuffles. Proper security, trained in de-escalation, should be in place.

If I were there with my children I wouldn't risk putting them in the middle of such a situation.

Frankly the way things are at the moment I'm glad to just watch via the stream. It seems that there's just too much of the football and egg chasing contingent ruining things at the moment.
I'm not suggesting people confront those who've had a few too many, but ignorant Pete who doesn't like wearing his mask - call him out.

From security I have dealt with over 26 years I have to say the IAW security seem to have a cushy job, Swarley may disagree but they seem to do nothing.

If security on the door can’t do the job to protect the fans that abide by the rules and not face up to these low life’s then they also need to be removed there has to be consistency week in week out

Yeah, so how does that work when ignorant Pete is some 6'6" steroid addled neanderthal? People are paid to do the job, they should bloody well do it.

Maybe the next clap banners (no time for the ones tomorrow) should have a big arrow on the back and fans can use them to point out the maskless hooligans to assist security and the stewards. I would say to shame them also but if they are not wearing masks at this stage with >150,00 dead then they don't give a hoot.
just put a camera on said person and shame them om arena screen, they will go red and embarressed guaranteed

Not too far from home, Ireland implements new rules:-

Indoor events such as concerts and sports fixtures must operate at 50% capacity and private home visits must involve no more than four households.

This coming weekend IS THE WEEKEND TO BE SEEN WITH FULL MASK ADHERANCE !!!
The scumbags will be still ignoring the rules only a matter of time before drakeford closes the ice rink grr

One thing we’ve noticed is that some of the regulars in block 8 who would usually be semi compliant with mask wearing initially but would still game it a bit (nursing a pint and keeping mask off and chatting while taking occasional sips) are now quite brazenly not wearing mask at game time at all. Only time mask appears is upon initial entry and is then put away. I think they recognise it is a barrier to socialising and don’t see any real world consequence to their behaviour by routing the mask rules. It’s often a row to row issue. A lot of regulars who wear masks during game time pull masks down below mouths to stand up and talk to friends in intervals Which defeats the purpose.

Generally staff seem better about mask wearing (which was a real problem in first few games) but security often mask-less in public areas. As it would probably be security who would be involved if issues arising with people not following rules, it’s pretty bad optics if the security themselves don’t seem to care about the rules. We usually go to post game signings and maskless people will often be socialising in the queue or close proximity to queue. This is worse since has been moved into the bar area as people less space for social distancing.
I believe that a couple of the security guys have mask exemptions.
