yes it happened tonight and Andreas Jamtin received a game misconduct penalty for an illegal check to head and continuing to play, so could be out of wednesday's game, if Dops rule that this pen should be upgraded to a Match pen.

See they can be beaten if they get rattled and lose their composure. At one point Manchester scored 5 unanswered goals against them.

It’s a two horse race out of us and giants!!
Bring it on. Everyone else is to far behind apart from fife but they will lose a few to the bigger teams :)

This game illustrates what folks seem to be overlooking....the Storm have found good form and are now in top 4.

This will be a heads up for the Devils who haven't played Storm for months.....but play them twice in the next few weeks.

And Fife's run to the end of the season is better than ours. Majority of their games are going to be against the Scottish teams.

These two teams will influence the outcome of several games effecting both Devils and Giants.

yeah they are a team in form with plenty of fire power and they know how to beat us having done so already this season. A dangerous opponent.

The excuse tonight was that they were tired from Minsk, bloody Minsk, they beat Belfast, they beat Cardiff, and everything in the garden is rosy, they lose tonight because they are tired from Minsk, bet he still believes in the tooth fairy.

Challenge Cup is probably the only title that have a chance of getting. They may have had their eye on that and took their foot off the pedal conserving exertions for next Wednesday?

I watched the game Steelers v Storm, and believe me they wanted to win big time, they were 5-2 up and they wanted it. Storm scored 7 and hit the crossbar 3 times. They played physical hockey against the Steelers, and took their chances. So the Steelers can leak goals, let’s hope we add to their misery Wednesday.

On the CC Semi final thread, somebody suggested that the Devils were conserving some energy for the Belfast double-header as one reason for the 2-6 result v Steelers last week.

I doubt v much a loss that important is down to conserving energy and easing off. Both Steelers and Devils are still in competitions. It's the business end if the season. Teams in contention will be going hell for leather for results.

Sometimes teams lose important games simply because the opposition is more prepared and organised, or can change/up their game accordingly. Storm certainly managed that.

Steelers aren't in contention though. They are 6th. 14 points behind. Their regular league season and conference is done. CC and playoffs is all they have left.

Steelers I believe are 5th and if they had won last night would have been 4th, with a game in hand over Storm, which could result in 3rd. Without a shadow of doubt Thommo would want to finish as high as possible, he needs to keep the crowds coming in, and to hold on too his job.

One more scenario why Steelers wanted to win, if they had won they would be
39 played 51 points.
Giants who are in 2nd place are
41 played 56 points
So if Steelers win their 2 games in hand they would have been
41 played 55 point, 1 point off 2nd place. They most certainly didn’t take their foot off the pedal.

Yes they are in 5th- but have no intention of staying there if they could potentially finish in the top 3. The top 8 ranked teams go into the Playoff competition, so really any of those teams is still in contention to progress. Given that and the fact that Steelers are current Playoff Winners, they will be building as much momentum as they can.

And, of course, the little matter of the CC semi-final.

The Steelers are definitely 6th. Not sure what table you'e looking at to see them in 5th.
