Never want to slot a guy into a specific line too early but Matt certainly looks like a good fit with Benti and Joey. As pointed out, this guy skates very well for a big man, hits hard and has excellent skill. He even fought Cam Jansen at one point. A very tough competition between several teams for Matt's services so it was really gratifying that he chose our little underdog team!!!

Great looking signing. some more Veteran leadership on what i imagine will be the top line with Martin and Benti, this guys looks like he can police that line while holding up his end of the bargain with the points. A different but excellent and capable looking replacement for Doucet.

if we can slot Asselin on the second line and Get a mobile Centreman on the 4th line we are looking hard to beat.

His ECHL stats are fantastic. His AHL stats start phenomenal before decreasing but you don't play that many games at that level if you're not a good player.

So that's our 1st line sorted. Hopefully Asselin will be confirmed as returning to complete our 2nd line. Which would mean Faryna and Lord on our 3rd line!!!!

Surely Myers slots in on that third line too... Top 3 lines look something else if we get Asselin! Would also mean a Player as good as Mo could end up on the fourth line with a young and keen to impress Moore and a New Import Centreman

I think Myers will be the 4th line centreman. Whilst he would fit nicely on that 3rd I think that will be another import centre. I don't think our 4th will be Mo, Moore and an import centre as I still think we will get a new tough guy which is very unlikely to be a centre. And whilst Mo could probably have a go through the middle I doubt his specialist defensive ability in the face off circle.
I think it will look like:
Pope Martin Benti
Asselin Ulmer Haddad
Faryna Rabbit Lord/Mo
Moore Myers Import (enforcer)

Would hope that Morisette plays on that 4th line - more 'sheltered' minutes to ease him back into competitive, aggressive hockey and he would offer veteran experience and encouragement. As captain (if he is going to be next season), that surely is one of his responsibilities anyway? Whilst it's obvious Craig is a very talented, young, 'EIHL ready' player, am sure he will be hoping to bring on his contribution even more, in addition to the opportunity to potentially win something next season. The players on his line will help that.

Matthew is a quality centreman - 4th line 'sheltered' shifts he does not deserve.

There is no reason the 4th should have sheltered shifts like before as it would've improved. He played 4th line a lot in Nottingham in the 15/16 season. His skill set is more suited to the 4th line role than any other I think. He's a defensive player.

Matthew also creates space and sets up play for the secondary scoring as well as playing a shut-down role.

Who knows, could be:

Pope-Martin-Bentivoglio
Haddad-Ulmer-(Asselin)/import
Faryna-Myers-(Rabbit)/import
Moore-Lord-Morisette

There are some partnerships already there

or

Lord-Myers-Faryna
Moore-import-Morisette

Just saw this on twitter;

For any stat freaks out there.

2014/15 in Italy.

Benti. 56 points, 37 games.
Ulms. 48 in 36.
Pope. 63 in 37. That's based on league only.

For me, he looks like a great signing!

His stats in leagues similar or better than the EIHL in quality are outstanding.

Could be the signing of the summer for us, and to think, absolutely nobody had any idea that we may sign him, at least not as far as I've seen.

Certainly on the surface it looks like a good addition and I hope it works out. Not sure on his offence yet as the Asian league is not of the same quality as the Elite league. I'm sure he will fit in nicely on one of the lines. Personally i'm not sure that putting him on the top line would work but time will tell. You also have to be careful what you do with Faryna. He certainly has some offensive upside and has proven with his play the last couple of years that he can score in the Elite League. Playing with Myers as some of you have suggested, might not be a good fit for him. No disrespect to Myers because I like his overall game and think he's a very good player, but would it mesh with Faryna ? Can Myers give Faryna enough scoring opportunities ? And would it be better to put Faryna on the top line ? He has the toughness, scoring and skating ability to play with Marty and Benti. It would definitely give those 2 more room to play because Faryna has proved his toughness. Would it be better to start off Pope on a lower line to start ? Can Pope stay with Benti and Marty speed wise ? But that's what exhibition games are for, to see who and where the best fits are. We also know that lines change game by game, week by week and month by month. Fun to fantasize though on what may happen

Personally with the forwards I'd run with;

Benti - Martin - Pope
Haddad - Ulmer - Asselin (Please god say he's coming back...)
Faryna - Myers - Lord/Mo (splitting bench duties as spare import)
Moore - Import - Import

Unless I've missed someone...?
