I find it stupid that Liam is classed as an import, he's just one a gold medal playing with team GB and he's under 23, yet he is technically an import....stupid on so many levels.

Is it a quirk of the new rules that say that the additional Brit U23's have to have played their junior hockey in the UK? I think the term was "British trained". Or is he classed as an import regardless of age?

apparently even though he was born in the UK because he trained in the US he's classed as an import.... go figure....

Any player who is not British Trained is classed as an Import... His age has nothing to do with it!

Just to clarify on the "British Trained" piece - my understanding is that they have had to completed 2 seasons of U16 hockey to be classed as "trained".
