Deeds Blog - Part 3

After looking at last week’s program I see I am going to have to step up my game with the "blogging" because Blighter is putting me to shame with his essays. This past week was a very busy but rewarding week, it started off with a trip to Coventry. All I hear about on twitter is about how ruthless the fans are there and how it's non-stop banter all game, I don't know if things have changed this year but it was very quiet and I didn't receive half as much as abuse as I was expecting.

I thought we played a great team game and everyone did their jobs and if it weren't for a fluke call at the end we would of came out of Coventry with the two points. We had a day off Thursday and then a practice Friday where we went over some systems and Power play and Penalty kill to prepare for the weekend.

Saturday we went into Sheffield with one thing on our mind and that was getting the two points, the game was extra important to me because of my on-going battle with basketball head Simmsy. We came out strong and didn't look back once, we faced a bit of adversity being down by a goal going into the third but we overcame it and out worked them for the win!

Sunday was a day I had been looking forward to since the day I signed with the Devils this summer! The atmosphere in the BBT was electric and the support from the the fans was amazing, obviously we didn't get the end result we wanted Sunday, but we showed a ton of character and managed to get a point. Overall I think it was a very successful weekend and we took 3 of 4 points from a team that is supposed to finish at the top of the standings.

Looking at the standings from last year Hull is a team that didn’t do too well, but those are the teams we cannot take lightly and those are the teams we need to beat and make sure we get the two points against. Braehead beat Belfast who is also supposed to be a league favourite so we need to make sure we bring our A game and get our first win on home ice!!!
