Hey Devils Fans
What a weekend for the boys in Red, White, and Black! It started off with a must win game up in Dundee, being suspended for our last trip to Scotland, G was kind enough to let me stay at home and not make the long bus trip. I will admit it has been quite some time since I have sat on a bus for that long and the minutes and hours seem even longer when Joe Myers is playing movies that wouldn't even make it into cinema's in North America. So on that note, if anyone has watched any good films as of late don't be shy to let Joe know so you can save the team from some misery.
Back to the serious talk thou, fans may not understand how hard it is to travel like that on the day of the game and still have your body perform like you expect it too. For us to play the strong team game like we did after sitting on the bus for that long was a statement. We put all excuses to the side and for the first time all year it seemed like everything went our way and the final score was a clear indication of that.
As excited as we were after a huge win Saturday night we knew that the real test was going to come the next day against the Belfast Giants who are atop on the standings. Going into the game we could of used so many different excuses as to why we weren't going to win but G reassured us before the game that some of the best team games are played when guys have to dig a little deeper and find out what they are really made of. We certainly didn't get the start we wanted falling back 3-0 after two periods of play, but as a whole we stayed focused and knew anything could happen in the 3rd period. We came out strong and after Batchy scored our second goal their was no doubt in my mind that we were going to win the match, and sure enough we did. For our team to dig deep like that and come back from 3 goals in one period to the best team in the league was a real statement, the character and never give up mentality on this team is like nothing I have experienced before.
This weekend is a huge weekend for us, we need to keep rolling with all this momentum we have and keep beating teams that are above us in the standings. I don't want to over look the Nottingham game as they are a good team and that is a tough building to win in, but I am already amped up to have Coventry come back into town on Sunday. I am sure all of you remember what happened last time they came here and I can assure you it hasn't left my memory either. I want these 2 points against the blaze at home more than I have wanted to win any other game this year. I am sure it will be a war come Sunday as it always seems to be when we play them. Stay loud and keep this BBT rocking!!!
